Eyepartner Releases IPTV Middleware

Our TikiLIVE IPTV solution just got a shot of adrenaline with our brand new middleware solution! Traditional Cable/Satellite providers offer subscription packages and now you can too! Follow their lead and create Basic, Plus and Premium packages, or blaze your own path with unique channel offerings of your choice. Our middleware goes one step farther. Not only can you charge for access to your IPTV network, these subscriptions are useful for Set Top Box or Over The Top (OTT) solutions and for mobile device access as well.

The viewer is able to purchase as many of these packages as they wish. This way they get exactly the content they want and you don’t have to worry that they’ll cancel because they don’t like the programming! Our integrated billing and user authentication makes it simple to charge one-time or recurring subscriptions.

Not the owner of the content being broadcasted? No problem! Our accounting tracks the licensing fees that you share with your content producers. Stay ahead of the competition with TikiLIVE middleware!

Key Features
• One-time and subscription-based billing options
• Real-time viewer authentication
• Comprehensive reporting
• 100% control of channel and package plans and Pricing
• Complete solution for IPTV, OTT, and Mobile delivery

The Mystery of Middleware Revealed

As you might have guessed, middleware sits “in the middle” between softwares that may be working on different operating systems. If your IPTV network were a house then middleware would be the plumbing. It runs throughout the entire house and once you have it, you would notice if it were removed!

In the IT industry, middleware is a general term for programming that serves to connect separate and often already existing programs. For your IPTV network, these programs include your network, payment gateway (online merchant), and viewing devices. Through an authentication process viewers are only able to access content if they have paid for it. This payment is tracked throughout the network so access is granted on all devices for which the viewer is approved (online, set top box, mobile).

If you’d like a more technical explanation, middleware consists of a library of functions, and enables a number of applications to page these functions from the common library rather than re-create them for each application. This simplifies integration of future applications that will behave similarly to programs already in place.

Keys to IPTV Success

ORGANIZATION Before jumping into a new venture it’s important to get a few things in order. Proper planning and organization saves time, money and undue stress for both you and your employees. Following these few guidelines should help make your business a success!

1. Have a business plan. Setting up realistic expectations on paper often makes the difference between the success and the failure of a network. Outline the steps to take in order to see the website go from an idea to a live production site. It’s the first step to becoming a happy .com business owner.
2. Find the tools. Today, there are solutions at every price point imaginable. From free (or just a few dollars investment) going up to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Cheap is always an attractive option and for some this is actually the best route. If you look at the business as a hobby then it’s important to keep costs down. Serious business owners should plan to investment in their business if they hope to achieve a profitable outcome.
3. Setup the infrastructure. When selecting your solution be sure that it can handle success! As your network increases in popularity, the strain on your system may become evident. Make sure your solution is scalable so expensive upgrades are not needed just as your business is starting to take off.

Auto Record

Auto Record Your LIVE Events

Would you like all of your LIVE broadcasts to be available as Video On Demand as soon as the event is over? Our new auto record feature lets you automatically record your LIVE broadcasts from your broadcaster dashboard so you never have to worry about losing your events by forgetting to record them!

The TikiLIVE broadcaster and Web-based broadcaster have recording options built in, but must be activated manually at the beginning of each broadcast. Additionally, many 3rd party broadcasters do not automatically save your broadcast to the server for VOD availability. With the new Auto-record feature it doesn’t matter if you are using one of the TikiLIVE broadcasters or a 3rd party broadcaster (Flash Media Encoder, Wirecast, TriCaster, or VidBlaster) you have this convenient feature available to you. For more information regarding 3rd party broadcasters, please see our Eyepartner Blog.

Konk Broadcasting Network uses both Flash Media Encoder and VidBlaster for their productions, check them out here: www.tikilive.com/show/konkam

Track Your Success with Google Analytics

With all TikiLIVE networks you have the opportunity to use Google Analytics to track your network’s success. Google Analytics is implemented by including what is known as a “page tag” which is a hidden snippet of code that you add onto every page of your website. This code acts as a beacon, collecting private visitor data and sending it back to Google data collection servers for processing.

Focus your marketing resources on campaigns and initiatives that deliver a Return On Investment (ROI). Do this by targeting your markets and track clicks based on geography. The data is tracked by country, state and even city.

If you want to improve your revenue stream then it’s important to convert more site visitors into paying customers. Once on your site engage visitors and track how they navigate through your site. Loyal visitors are highly engaged with your brand and a high number of these visitors make multiple visits to your site. Good customer retention is key to building consistent revenue – the longer a visitor stays on your site, the more likely they are to buy!

For the latest information regarding Google Analytics, check out their blog here: http://analytics.blogspot.com/

Eyepartner Releases TikiLIVE IPTV for ROKU Set Top Boxes

MARATHON, FLORIDA, February 5, 2011.

Managing LIVE HD video delivery to set top boxes has been a challenge to media producers, broadcasting networks and corporations worldwide.  Eyepartner has developed a low cost iPTV middleware that delivers HD Live, VOD, and Channel Lineups directly to the affordable ROKU set top box.   TikiLIVE makes it easy for anyone to setup a channel and broadcast their stream in full HD, with a simple to use click-and-go interface.  The user can quickly arrange a playlist of pre-recorded video as well as offer it on a pay per view basis.

The TikiLIVE iPTV platform, based on a patent pending streaming technology, requires no proprietary hardware or advanced training to use.   This solution was designed to easily broadcast and deliver LIVE streaming, VODs, and channel lineups in HD “over the top” directly to the ROKU set top boxes as well as to your streaming sites simultaneously. The TikiLIVE platform is to be made available through direct marketing along with various OEM channel partners, distributors.

“Professionals, movie makers, broadcasters and enthusiast alike now have the ability to schedule content and broadcast their HD media directly into the living rooms of their audience through the ROKU set top box; quickly, easily and without purchasing proprietary hardware” as quoted by Tim Green, President of Eyepartner.

So, how does it work?  Eyepartner offers a simple application with an easy to use dashboard that can be accessed from any Web Browser.   The user is offered live broadcasting tools, VOD uploading capabilities to arrange playlists and publish channel lineups.  All media is conveniently hosted and streamed from Eyepartner central server farms.  The user may decide to publish a combination of LIVE, VOD or channel lineups.    The user may set the content as free or on a pay per view basis.  The stream is instantly streamed to a channel onto the ROKU set top box.

Eyepartner offers simple “how-to” tutorials that walk the user through the broadcasting process with simple step-by-step instructions.   For more information on how this works, users may sign up www.tikilive.com for a free trial run of the TikiLIVE platform.

IPTV – The Future in Television!

Why is IPTV better than regular TV?

TV is great. It’s been around for years and we’re used to how it works. There is no denying that this is true. But IPTV is in many ways far superior than “normal” TV. In the following article we’ve highlighted a few of the advantages that IPTV can offer you, as the broadcaster, and your viewers.

IPTV offers the phenomenal image quality

Recently a lot of video quality comparisons have been made on different devices or services – specifically the quality from satellite, cable and DVB-T against IPTV. The results have been as we anticipated: The winner was declared to be IPTV! For example our TikiLIVE broadcaster called the HD Wave can deliver an amazing HD streaming experience to the audience in true 1080i or 1080p at up to 60 frames per second which is Blu-Ray quality!

You can instantly LIVE stream your video sources or upload the videos to be available as Video On Demand. A tutorial about how to get started with The HD Wave and to publish your content on the web can be found HERE.

Time Shifting

This feature has taken off recently with DVRs and TiVo, but in reality this is a core feature of IPTV and it was IPTV that made this possible! “Time Shifting” allows you to pause a program or stream and start it again. Recording and storing for later viewing is also possible. In television PVRs (Personal Video Recorder) and DVRs (Digital Video Recorder) or computers equipped with a TV capture card are used to time shift. All these make this function the most popular IPTV benefit of all.

Video On Demand

IPTV providers offer shows and movies to their audience so you don’t have to be the program director of a TV station to gain access to that content. IPTV providers also offer access to their own online video store. Some of them allow you to choose from thousands of titles to satisfy all of your customers’ tastes.

TikiLIVE IPTV solution is the place where users stream, record and transcode their content for later edit, using the TikiLIVE revolutionary broadcaster. Transcoding can be done in many formats so you can make your content available for Windows, Linux or Mac operating systems.

The Silverlight Uploader, recently updated by the TikiLIVE team allows you to easily publish videos into your account as Video On Demand. More information about the Silverlight Uploader can be found HERE.

Interactive Services

IPTV provides for a so-called “back channel”, which is essential for interactive applications. There are already some applications TikiLIVE works with to offer the end users what they want most, interactivity. For example you can use a set top box to browse TikiLIVE content. Just connect it to your TV via HDMI, component, composite, or S-video and then plug it to your sound system and you are ready to experience TV in stunning HD video and crystal-clear audio. The device will automatically scan and display the available channels.

IPTV Set Top Box Front Panel

IPTV Set Top Box Back Panel

The Roku box is compatible with our platform so you can view the channels and videos from TikiLIVE – in the future you will also have access to the Pay per View and subscription content.

TikiLIVE Channel on Roku

The set-top box itself is necessary for the TV signals to be transmitted over the DSL line via internet then converted back into a usable signal for the TV similarly as with satellite TV.

What is IPTV?

What is IPTV?

IPTV has been a buzz word for a while now, but the breadth of its features are often limited to online-TV. This newsletter will hopefully answer the question, what is IPTV? First off, IPTV stands for Internet Protocol Television. Right away you must be thinking, “but it’s called internet television – isn’t that just TV online?” While IPTV is television on the internet, its abilities go far beyond. IPTV is destined to change the way we distribute content and how our audiences will view it. As opposed to traditional television mediums (Antennas, Satellites, or Cable) which broadcast to everyone and the end user decides what to watch, IPTV provides a more pointed approach. An IPTV Network delivers content over a securely managed network that streams content directly to individual viewers or locations.

Who can watch IPTV?

IPTV Networks are built to deliver content to any number of devices and unlimited users.  For a traditional TV experience you can stream to Set Top Boxes.  A Set Top Box connects to the internet for the content and connects to a TV via an HDMI, composite, component or S-video cable. This is like a cable or satellite box, only it connects to the internet instead of coaxial cable. Since the network is already branded to you, we can brand the Set Top Box as well.  With a quantity discount each of your subscribers can get a branded Set Top Box for $99!  Like conventional TV you can stream content Live or make it available as Videos On Demand, but that’s where the similarities end. The leash of conventional broadcasting has been removed! Feature-rich programming is delivered to anybody at any time. Users have the ability to interact with each other around shared interests forming communities that span the globe. Access is available to all through web browsers or mobile devices such as Androids, Blackberries, or iPhones.  Social Media ports link your network to Facebook, Youtube and Twitter placing your content in prime contention for viral popularity.

How do you make money

The unicast, or “per-user-cast” method of delivery gives you unparalleled access to your viewers demographics. Unlike traditional television broadcasts which rely on surveys and estimations for viewership demographics IPTV allows you to track exactly who is tuning in and from where they are watching because of IP address tracking. When a user signs up for your IPTV service, they provide their gender, age, location and any other information you want which lets you build targeted programming and advertising based on real-time data.  The network is extremely secure and allows you to filter detailed statistics regarding the consumer’s preferences. You can easily add e-commerce references, advertising, and other services on items in which the audience expresses an interest.

Some concrete examples of ways to monetize your Network:

•Subscription Based Broadcasting – The Admin sets broadcasting packages that the users sign up for and pay on a re-occurring payment plan.

•Integrated Advertising – Network Administrators can assign specific advertising campaigns within their network and track impressions and click-throughs.

•Pay-Per-View Ticket Sales – Broadcasters can set ticket prices on their content and sell them to their audience. The site admin collects a percentage of the transaction to account for feeds and bandwidth.

TikiLIVE Custom Branded IPTV Networks

A TikiLIVE IPTV Network can be completely white labeled and re-designed to keep the network operating under your brand. With TikiLIVE you can:

• Broadcast in crystal clear High Definition
• Monetize your content through Pay Per View
• Offer Videos On Demand for easy residual income
• Deploy integrated Advertising for additional income
• Produce TV-like channels with our Channel Manager

Live Video Broadcasting Software

Live Video Broadcasting Software
Although user friendliness, reliability and bandwidth are important factors to consider when using live video broadcasting software, you also need to consider the features that come with it. These extra features can make or break video broadcasting software. Different companies and individuals are going to require different features. Knowing this, Eyepartner has developed programs such asTikiLIVE and The HD Wave Broadcaster which are loaded with features to accommodate the many different companies and individuals using video broadcasting software. This article will discuss some of the many features that accompany each type of software and explain how it will benefit you.

TikiLIVE: TikiLIVE is 100% turnkey and an “out of the box” ready platform that utilizes the best live video broadcasting software around. TikiLIVE allows users to upload, store and manage videos, channels and members to create video content for niche marketing. In addition to all these features users can customize and brand, a.k.a. “white label,” every aspect of their network.

In addition to live broadcasts  users can simultaneously record them for use as Video On Demand. After the broadcast is over, you can save, view, edit or archive it for future viewing. Users can create multiple channels to accommodate multiple audiences and build interactive broadcasting network communities. Videos can be displayed in crystal clear High Definition or high quality Standard Definition.  Users can also create schedules for shows and even set the videos into a timeline and have them play on a pseudo-live schedule just like real TV!

Moreover, social networking tools like chat, messaging, and blogging are built into TikiLIVE, allowing viewers to comment on video they see in real time. For clients who are interested in monetizing their media we have several options. You can set all content, either Live or Video On Demand as Pay Per View. If you are looking for advertising revenue, TikiLIVE offers both pre, mid and post-roll video ads as well as banner ads. Not into micro-managing? You can sell channels to other broadcasters and let them do the work while you collect a monthly fee for this service AND a ticket master fee for any Pay Per View events they hold!

The HD Wave Broadcaster: The HD Wave Broadcaster enables users to stream in High Definition or Standard Definition. In addition, users can stream tournaments, concerts, movies, demonstrations, product overviews and a variety of other live events. You can stream your live and recorded events to IPTV networks directly to Set Top Boxes (like a cable box) too!  The HD Wave Broadcaster streams both HTML5 and Flash, allowing for optimal viewing for any device.

Great live video broadcasting software cannot function on features, user friendliness, reliability and bandwidth alone. These aspects must work together to provide users and their members with the best possible video broadcasting experience. With all of these things going on you should do your best to thoroughly research the software before you commit to it. We have a staff that is willing and able to help and you can always get us on the phone!
