The Mystery of Middleware Revealed

As you might have guessed, middleware sits “in the middle” between softwares that may be working on different operating systems. If your IPTV network were a house then middleware would be the plumbing. It runs throughout the entire house and once you have it, you would notice if it were removed!

In the IT industry, middleware is a general term for programming that serves to connect separate and often already existing programs. For your IPTV network, these programs include your network, payment gateway (online merchant), and viewing devices. Through an authentication process viewers are only able to access content if they have paid for it. This payment is tracked throughout the network so access is granted on all devices for which the viewer is approved (online, set top box, mobile).

If you’d like a more technical explanation, middleware consists of a library of functions, and enables a number of applications to page these functions from the common library rather than re-create them for each application. This simplifies integration of future applications that will behave similarly to programs already in place.

ORGANIZATION Before jumping into a new venture it’s important to get a few things in order. Proper planning and organization saves time, money and undue stress for both you and your employees. Following these few guidelines should help make your business a success!

Would you like all of your LIVE broadcasts to be available as Video On Demand as soon as the event is over? Google Analytics is implemented by including what is known as a “page tag” which is a hidden snippet of code that you add onto every page of your website. This code acts as a beacon, collecting private visitor data and sending it back to Google data collection servers for processing.

Focus your marketing resources on campaigns and initiatives that deliver a Return On Investment (ROI). Do this by targeting your markets and track clicks based on geography. The data is tracked by country, state and even city.

TV is great. It’s been around for years and we’re used to how it works. There is no denying that this is true. But IPTV is in many ways far superior than “normal” TV. In the following article we’ve highlighted a few of the advantages that IPTV can offer you, as the broadcaster, and your viewers.

IPTV offers the phenomenal image quality

Recently a lot of video quality comparisons have been made on different devices or services – specifically the quality from satellite, cable and DVB-T against IPTV. The results have been as we anticipated: The winner was declared to be IPTV! Time Shifting

This feature has taken off recently with DVRs and TiVo, but in reality this is a core feature of IPTV and it was IPTV that made this possible! “Time Shifting” allows you to pause a program or stream and start it again. Recording and storing for later viewing is also possible. In television PVRs (Personal Video Recorder) and DVRs (Digital Video Recorder) or computers equipped with a TV capture card are used to time shift. Video On Demand
